We’re excited to welcome Juliet Millard as our next Shore Road Open Mic featured artist. We interviewed Juliet earlier this week to help guests get a better sense of who she is and what to expect during our next event. We are grateful she will be opening the night for us!
From our chat with juliet:

For Juliet, performing live is about more than sharing songs. “It’s about connection.” She describes it as a “heart to heart connection” and “a deep communion” between the artist and audience.
Juliet is an award-winning singer-songwriter whose music blends spiritual folk, storytelling, and emotional depth. She will be performing a combination of solo songs and songs where she will be accompanied by performers in her group enCHANTed.

After 30 years as a mental health counselor, Juliet brings a rare sense of emotional insight to her songwriting and strives to bring out emotion through her words. Her songs feel reflective, honest, and deeply human.
“In retirement, I’ve become a singer-songwriter,” says Juliet. Her musical roots go back to her childhood. “I wrote my first little song when I was eight years old,” she told us, laughing, and remembering the song she wrote was already “a sad love song”. Currently she says she seeks to write songs that bring spiritual perspectives, relevant to the times we are living in.
Over the years, she has performed with a multitude of choirs, learned piano, guitar, and developed a deep love for harmony. She describes her sound as spiritual folk music, shaped by English choral music, folk traditions, and the songwriting sensibility of the 1960s.
Juliet also let us know that the audience is encouraged to sing along during chants that she describes as Interfaith Chants for Inner Peace.
Join us on May 8th at 7pm in Naperville, IL and experience Juliet’s music in the room!
