Featured artist info & application
Our featured artist slot is a 20-minute set that helps open the night and set the tone for the room.
This is not simply a longer performance slot. It is a chance to help shape a thoughtful shared experience at Shore Road Open Mic. We look for performers who can bring a strong, focused set and contribute to the open, respectful, supportive feel of the evening.

What we consider
When someone applies to be a featured artist, we are not only looking at the music or material itself.
We also consider the artist’s professional experience and review the marketing materials provided, whether their approach fits the room, and whether they are willing to work with the Shore Road team on planning and shaping the set. That collaboration helps us create a stronger experience for the artist, the audience, and the rest of the night.
If you have a desire to learn or are still new to performing, Kim-Char still wants you to apply but we request you be willing to work with her.
Who this is for
This slot may be a good fit for you if:
- you have a full 20-minute set you feel ready to share
- you want to help create a thoughtful experience in the room
- you understand that the featured set helps shape the energy of the night
- you are open to working with our team in advance
Who it might not be for
This slot may not be the right fit if your main goal is simply to get more stage time.
It may also not be the best fit if you want to treat it like an extended open slot without discussion or collaboration. The featured artist role works best for artists who are interested in the night as a whole, not only their own set.
We welcome artists who want to bring a strong 20-minute set and work with us to help start the night well.
